Early Christmas Present

I have been doodling since pre-school when I learned to draw a perfect circle.  There are sketchbooks galore all over my house of my latest creations, hubby can testify to that.  He let me get my Christmas present very early and I haven't been able to put it down.  My blogging has taken a backseat to my new found toy and I'm not really sure how long that's going to last.

Allow me to introduce my new toy, an Intuos Pro Pad (electronic sketchbook), stylus and all.  It connects to my laptop with a cord but it's also wireless.  I use software, Corel Paint and the Autumn image at the top of this page, is what I created with my pad.

I have been inspired to draw my Native American tribe (Little River Band of Ottawa Indians from Manistee, MI in Northern Michigan), Folk Art-Americana style.  I have noticed there are no Folk Art drawings of Native Americans out there, or at least not many.  This is my quest and desire and I'm loving every minute of it.

Here are some more of my latest creations:

At the moment I am creating a scene of my tribe from each season.  I still have yet to draw Spring and then the season collection will be done.  I will start on Spring as I do some more research on how my tribe spent their Springs.

This one has nothing to do with my tribe, I was just in a Christmas mood.  This one took me about two days to create.  I hastily finalized it then realized I had forgotten to draw a red cardinal on the mailbox, oh well, I still have a lot to learn.

This is what's keeping me busy these days.  I will continue to blog as I'm able.  In the meantime, if you're interested in purchasing any of my drawings, I have opened up an ETSY shop.  You can connect to it by clicking on the link/image in the column to the right.

Have a great weekend and remember to savor every moment!
