So, I'm venturing waaaaaay out of my comfort zone. I have planted a Meyer Lemon Twig (soon to be tree, I hope). I cooked with Meyer Lemons once only because I haven't been able to find any since the Spring time when I made Martha Stewarts, Meyer Lemon Pound Cake. Meyer Lemons are gourmet lemons that look almost like small oranges, their aroma is ten times stronger than the normal lemon. I found them at, of all places, Walmart but I haven't been able to find them since, nowhere! I was so frustrated so I did some research online and come to find out they are harvested in the Spring. That's the bad news, the good news is that in my research I found out that I can grow a lemon tree . . . . . , in my house!! As long as it's in a sunny spot and kept warm, I can have Meyer Lemons year round?!!! WOW!! I just hope I don't kill it because I do tend to have a "brown" thumb. The window ledge above my kitchen sink is called, "Death Row" by my daughter. That's how bad I am with plants so, I'm hoping and praying and hoping and praying that I don't botch this one. Hubby planted it in a giant pot and placed it in our "sunroom". If you have any tips for me, please feel free leave me some, I need all the help I can get with my new baby. Thanks!
That's awesome! I have a green thumb, but have never grown a tree indoors, so I don't have any advice for you. Best of luck though!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your tree! I have a feeling that you'll be successful with this.
