I've mentioned before that the new tradition in our family for Super Bowl Sunday is to make popular food that represent each team's city.* I'm thrilled that both teams have patriotic colors. Lord knows I have plenty of red/white/blue in my "Chick/Man Cave" because of my favorite college team (Liberty Flames). So without further ado, here's the menu:
LOBSTER ROLLS
- we're going to make ours more bite-size
BOSTON BAKED BEANS
Which one??? We'll keep you guessing.....
BOSTON CREME PIE
BLACK AND WHITE COOKIES
NEW YORK HOTDOGS
with all the fixins
I bought my hubby a white apron and tshirt and I'm going to make him a vendor cap so that he can look like a genuine, authentic, NY hotdog vendor. I told him he could hand out the hotdogs at the party but he'd rather throw them!! He's from upstate New York, whaddya expect?
WALDORF SALAD
DELI PLATTER
CHEESECAKE
HELMET COOKIES made with this same exact cookie cutter
BEVERAGE - COCA-COLA
That's all we serve at our house!
Someday, I will be able to serve all kinds of Mexican food . . . . . someday, *whimper* Can you guess which team I root for??
Let the fun begin and may the best team win!!
*DISCLAIMER: Don't get all technical on me - I know that the Giants are not from NY City but are located in New Jersey and the Patriots are not from Boston but from Foxborough, Mass., Thank you! :)
Sounds like you'll be cooking all weekend to prepare for the big game. Everything you are making sounds great. I'd head for the lobster roll first thing!
ReplyDeleteFun. Better wrap those hot dogs well. We are going Mexican from layered bean dip and salsa to grilled fajitas.
